So, how did you end up as Lex Luthor if one of the questions was "Are you bald?" I guess I thought he'd be ruled out if anyone answered "No" to that question...

On a five point scale, with 1 being 'not bald' and 5 being 'bald,' I put 2, figuring that I have less hair than I did when I was younger.

Yeah, I actually pictured Professor X with that question, but he's a good guy. Not that you'd know that, Rainster.

For God's sake, if you can't get some comic books, I mean, graphic novels, get some of the movies in your Netflix queue. The X-Men movies aren't the best, but they're worthwhile. See Batman 1 and Batman Begins. Hellboy is nice for variety. Get the Incredible Hulk tv series. The new Ghost Rider movie looks pretty good. You have options...

i second the x-men movies and batman begins. i also appreciated the spider-mans, and the made-for-tv archie all grown up movie, but that's the extent of my comic movie/tv show knowledge. i do not recommend the christian bear family series.

Oh yeah, Spiderman. Those movies are very good. They're clearly made by people who love the comic books (Sam Raimi, especially). The Green Goblin in the first one is badly costumed (especially sad considering the actor, Willem Dafoe, is awesome. and Jesus.), but get past that, and it's a good movie.

So I've seen Batman Begins, which was good. And Superman and Superman Returns. The Spiderman movies are in my queue, but I'm a little reluctant to watch them cuz I really hate arachnids.

And now the X-men movies are in it too! I even bumped up the first one to #3 on my list.

well, there's not a lot of spiders in spiderman, ironically enough.

speaking of this super villian quiz, i wonder if saying i "participate in feminist activities" (or whatever that was) helped or hurt the mystique assessment? which female comic hero is a feminist? torgo, since you are the resident expert, can you weigh in?

I'll second xtina's comment about spiderman -- except the scene where he gets bitten (by a clearly CGI bug), there aren't any spiders.

As for feminists, I'm not sure. My wife is the X-men expert (X-pert?) She really likes Storm. There are many strong women in comics, especially X-men. Mystique is one. So is Jean Grey (the Phoenix).

But then, a lot of the books are written by lonely men, hence the emphasis on S&M (see: Catwoman). Sure, they kick ass and stand up for themselves, but they do so in various states of undress with Barbie-like dimensions.
